As previously, vaguely announced, in honor of their 25th anniversary, legendary Seattle label Sub Pop are throwing a one-day festival: Sub Pop’s Silver Jubilee will take place on Airport Way in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood on July 13. The first bands to be announced are Mudhoney, Greg Dulli, J Mascis, Father John Misty, Shabazz Palaces w/ THEESatisfaction, Pissed Jeans, Shearwater, the Baptist Generals, Brothers of the Sonic Cloth ft. Tad Doyle, and Endino’s Earthworm. More music and comedy acts will be announced soon.
The concert will be free, all ages, and will also feature local food and drink stalls, a record fair, and the Sub Pop Mega Mart. Donations of $5 on the door will get you a limited tote bag, and the money will benefit local charities, 90.3FM KEXP, Northwest Harvest, and the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation.
