Legendary John Lydon-fronted post-punk act Public Image Limited are reissuing their 1978 debut album First Issue on Light in the Attic Records. The reissue will mark the first official release of the album in North America. The record wasn’t considered commercially viable for American labels the first time around. Via Pitchfork:
The album will be out in 2xCD, LP/mp3, and digital formats. Along with the album itself, the 2xCD format will include a couple of stickers, an extensive, unedited BBC interview with John Lydon from October 1978, and the B-side “The Cowboy Song”. Both the interview and B-side will accompany the LP, on a download card. The LP, in gatefold packaging, also includes a fold-out poster, reproductions of tabloid advertisements, and stickers. (Deluxe versions of both formats include a patch and six buttons.)
The band’s debut single, “Public Image,” will also be re-released for Record Store Day on April 20.
