Just 21 years after the release of their shoegaze classic Loveless, My Bloody Valentine will release their very, very long-awaited third album this year, according to frontman Kevin Shields. Via Pitchfork:
According to NME, the upcoming album will also be followed by an EP of new recordings to be released next year. Shields said the new record “really frees us up, and in the bigger picture it’s 100% necessary.”
“People who like us will immediately connect with something,” he said. “Based on the very, very few people who’ve heard stuff—some engineers, the band, and that’s about it—some people think it’s stranger than Loveless. I don’t.”
Shields said that the record will be made available on the band’s website.
We’d like to congratulate the MBV crew for doing the impossible and making Chinese Democracy look prompt.
