DEAD KENNEDYS RESPOND TO HEINEKEN’S USE OF ‘TOO DRUNK TO F*CK’…

… in a statement, the Dead Kennedys themselves have taken issue with Heineken: “Dead Kennedys emphatically deny that they ever gave Heineken permission to use the song. The band’s attorneys have contacted Heineken to address the un-authorized use. Dead Kennedys have never authorized any company to use this song or any of the band’s songs to promote a consumer product (let alone the consumption of alcohol) in this or any advertisement.”

All this raises the question: What genius thought it was a good idea to use any version of “Too Drunk to Fuck” in a beer ad? That’s like using “California Über Alles” in a state tourism board commercial…
