The Police Unveil European Tour Plans
The Police have unveiled dates for late summer/early fall European tour, beginning Aug. 29 in Stockholm. So far, 13 shows are confirmed, although additional dates in Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, and Denmark are pending, according to the band’s Web site.
In Europe, the Police will play a mix of indoor arenas and outdoor stadiums. Some tickets begin going on sale today (March 6) via the band’s fan club.
This leg of the tour will follow the instantly sold-out North American run that begins May 28 in Vancouver. After Europe, the Police will return to North America for more shows.
In addition, fans got a taste of which songs the group has been rehearsing via a set list photo printed alongside an interview in yesterday’s Sunday Times. Beyond usual suspects such as “Every Breath You Take,” “Driven To Tears,” “Message in a Bottle” and “Roxanne” are oddities such as “Deathwish,” “Rehumanize Yourself,” “Shadows in the Rain” and “One World.”
The list also includes “Spirits in the Material World” and “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” two giant hits that the group often ignored in a live setting.
