• Pop-punk act Rufio had its entired touring trailer stolen this week after a show in Montreal. With no insurance policy, the band is begging fans to help them make up the loss: “These people took our livelihoods and everything we have from us,” they wrote recently in a statement. The group has been opening for Alkaline Trio.
• In other band disaster news, Ash’s tour bus recently burst into flames. While traveling to San Francisco, the van began filling up with smoke. The fire was extinguished and another bus found; however, that bus also caught on fire, ending up in ashes. The luckless group eventually made it to the show – five hours late and sans equipment.
• Rhino is releasing a 100-song Ramones box set. Entitled Weird Tales of the Romanes, the three-disc (and DVD) package includes all the classics – “Blitzkrieg Bop,” “Judy is a Punk,” “I Wanna Be Sedated” – as well as loads of B-sides, videos, and covers.
