Locust To Clear Channel: Buzz Off!

If the Bush administration and VH-1’s “celebreality” programming are any indication, we should prepare for at least eight more plagues. Most frighteningly, a swarm of the Locust will be decimating America with their flailing, writhing spazz-grind as part of the Ipecac Geek Show tour—headlined by Patton-led weird merchants Fantômas (supporting their Carl Stalling-core typhoon Suspended Animation) and jazzbo zornographers Trevor Dunn’s Trio Convulsant. But don’t go painting lamb’s blood on your door if you live in Detroit, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Minneapolis or San Francisco… because they ain’t stoppin’ by! The Locust are giving four sweaty, gloved middle fingers to all of the Clear Channel venues booked for the tour; boycotting the monolithopoly for its destruction of free thought and its general suckiness. Says ipecac.com: “Unfortunately the Locust will not be with us on all the dates. They actually have morals and won’t play Clear Channel venues. Fantômas on the hand are whores and go where the money is!” The Locust will release their umpteenth plague soundscape (and their first for Ipecac), the Safety Second, Body Last EP, on March 22.
