Outkast complete movie

Outkast have finished shooting their first movie. “My Life In Idlewild” was written and directed by video director Bryan Barber, who made the duo’s recent “Hey Ya!” and “Roses” promos, amongst others. The $15m [£7.8,] production features Andre 3000 and Big Boi in lead roles alongside Ving Rhames and Rosario Dawson. Big Boi told MTV: “It’s like two stories going on the same time… Dre’s is like more a love story and mine is kind of crazy, wild.” “Bryan Barber did a really good job writing the script, and it’s going to be real good.” The movie is: “A musical set in the Prohibition-era American South, where a speakeasy performer [Big Boi] and his piano player [Andre 3000] contend with gangsters who have their eyes on the club.” Outkast have almost completed the accompanying soundtrack album and are also at work on a new studio album to follow-up 2003’s “Speakerboxxx”/”The Love Below”. Big Boi added: “We’re trying to do a song with Anita Baker, Sade, maybe Kate Bush if we can find her… They say she’s crazy, so I don’t know what’s going on.”
